How it works
The two active ingredients in ProShield have complimentary modes of action.
Diflufenician (DFF) is extremely hydrophobic. Once applied, it adheres to the surface and forms a skin or ‘barrier’ that protects against germination. As it’s hydrophobic, it stays in place preventing weed germination.
Glyphosate is a translocated contact herbicide which is taken up through the foliage and translocated throughout the whole plant. It has post-emergence activity only, killing seedlings and established weeds.
The two components have a synergistic effect in this formulation, the diflufenician giving the glyphosate faster activity for the initial kill of the weeds.
